Welcome To... More Of The Same
Heroes, Heartbreak and Harsh Truths.
As 2024 draws to a close, I can’t help but reflect on a year that’s been both heartbreaking and transformative.
The world around us is changing fast—some changes are painful, others are hopeful—but together, they remind me of the immense challenges and opportunities we are all faced with.
It’s been one for the history books—a year that has broken hearts, tested faith, and exposed the depths of human resilience and human complicity.
The ongoing genocide in Palestine is a scar on the conscience of humanity. The relentless bombardments, the starvation, the displacement—inflicted upon our beloved Nabi’s (ﷺ) ummah.
And what has been the global response?
Words, empty platitudes, and, worse, active complicity. The silence of those in power speaks louder than their press conferences.
The UK government’s unwavering support for an apartheid regime continues to shame us all. But the silence of Muslims worldwide, too preoccupied with distractions to raise their voices, cuts even deeper.
How many of us boycotted the government?
How many of us prayed with true sincerity?
How many of us even cared enough to act?
While the bombs drop abroad, at home, a different war rages—this one against our health and common sense. The UK government proudly announced plans to prescribe weight-loss drugs to obese, unemployed people.
Let that sink in.
Rather than addressing the root causes of an obesogenic society driven by the greed of Big Food, they’re pushing pharmaceuticals with side effects we’re only beginning to understand.
This isn’t a solution; it’s a band-aid on a bullet wound. It’s also a chilling glimpse into the future: a society where health isn’t restored but chemically managed, where we’re dependent on drugs for survival instead of empowered through knowledge and lifestyle change.
The controversy surrounding mRNA vaccines continues to unravel. While hailed as breakthroughs, evidence is mounting about the risks they carry—evidence that was suppressed, dismissed, or ridiculed in the name of "progress."
Have we learned nothing from history about blind trust in unchecked corporations?
Yet, amidst the darkness, sparks of hope have emerged. In America, people like Calley Means and Dr. Casey Means have stood up against the intertwining forces of Big Food and Big Pharma. They’ve exposed how these industries profit from our sickness, creating cycles of dependency and despair.
In the UK, Dr Chris van Tulleken has been relentless in his mission to reveal the dangers of ultra-processed foods, pulling back the curtain on a system designed to poison us—literally.
These voices are a reminder that truth, no matter how inconvenient, cannot stay buried forever.
The sinister collusion between corporations, regulators, and governments is no longer a conspiracy—it’s a fact.
Every aisle of our supermarket, every ad on our screen, every "health policy" announcement is a calculated move to keep us sick, distracted, and complicit.
And let’s not forget the spiritual implications. These systems don’t just destroy bodies; they destroy souls.
They trap us in cycles of overconsumption, laziness, and despair—all distractions from the ultimate purpose of our lives: to worship Allah, to seek the Akhirah, to stand up for justice.
2024 has also been a whirlwind of growth, challenges, and unexpected victories.
Here’s are some of the moments that defined the last 12 months for me personally—and the lessons I’m carrying forward.
Whether it was releasing ‘Cure Your Cravings’ or reaching new people with my mission to transform the Muslim health landscape, 2024 taught me how much impact can grow when rooted in the right intentions.
I’ve learned from hundreds of conversations, experiments, and even a few failures. This was the year of refining my methods, listening deeply, and leaning into the discomfort of growth.
My own health and fitness hit a new high—I regained my badminton form, and it’s made me even more passionate about helping others fix their food and physique too.
With endless distractions (social media rabbit holes, late nights processed food temptations!), staying focused was harder than ever.
And every challenge deepened my resolve to prioritise my connection with Allah above everything else. Alhamdulillah.
There were moments when the grind felt too much, but those same moments taught me to embrace rest, delegate more, and trust the process.
Work smart, not hard.
Surrender the outcome to Allah after doing my best.
Small, steady actions created bigger change than any dramatic overhaul could. Whether in business, health, or spirituality, this lesson was gold.
In the chaos of 2024, my Qur'an recitation and reflection was a constant. It reminded me that barakah (blessings) flows from aligning effort with intention.
Whether it was through Sahil Adeems IMS initiative or Faisal Amjads KNOW your Purpose community, I learned that true growth happens when we uplift each other.
It's ok no not have all the answers all the time. As long as we're asking the right questions we're doing alright.
Curiosity is a skill. And when we stop questioning we stop living.
So what’s Next?
